Four Major Productions Wrapped in 2021
In this very delicate year of 2021 for the entire industry CLOCKWORK FILM PRODUCTION has shot two very successful series for Asian market which are both set to be released in 2022, adding here the documentary film for Canada based Discovery Channel and web commercial for huge Indian IT company.
In March, Clockwork Films shot the project “APHARAN 2“, which counted 24 shooting days and was produced by famous Bollywood producer Tanvir Bookwala for “Ding Entertainment Pvt Ltd“. The acclaimed director Santosh Sing, along with very talented DOP Anubhav Bansal, than Bollywood stars: Arunoday Singh, Sukhmani Sadana, Snehil Mehra and more than 250 Serbian film crew members are behind the creation of this very action packed comedy-thriller. “Apharan 2” was shot on various locations in Belgrade city center, on Smederevo fortress, in KPGT, the Museum of Aeronautics, etc. The story follows the ex cop Rudra, being blackmailed by an undercover criminal gang in his high-stake battle for justice. Our famous actors Miona Markovic, Jakov Jeftovic and Ivan Jeftovic made a brief and spicy appearance, all trained by the Serbian SKA Team.
Just couple of months later, the same producers came back to film with us, being very pleased with our production work. Clockwork started the pre-production of series “COLD MESS” in early October, which will be aired on ALT Balaji TV. The executive producer of Cold mess, Ekta Kapoor, one of the huge names in industry, joint managing director and creative head of Balaji Telefilms Limited, visited us during the shoot. Ms Kapoor was more than satisfied with Clockwork production and entire team, being presented with beneficial possibilities that our country offers for foreign productions. This very millennials-oriented series follows the intimacy and nature of today’s relationships between 2 young characters, Karan and Liz, with the elements of comic relief. They guide us through their different perspectives of a term – serious relationship – inevitably causing the comic misunderstanding. The series features Barun Sobti and Ridhi Dogra, but also Serbian cast Srdjan Karanovic, Djordje Kadijevic, Tara Milutinovic, being directed by Prashant Bhagia. Very talented Vladimir Ilic was the DOP on this project shot in Serbia during three weeks on the various locations recognized as monumental sets by foreigner producers: Royal Palace, Karadjordjeva street, Geca Kon bookstore in Knez Mihailova street, Madlenianum Opera and Theatre and in many other private properties.
Both projects have been supported by the Serbian Government in Incentive program, Ministry of Culture and Belgrade City authorities, JKP Smedervska Tvrdjava and many other institutions who reconfirmed Serbian film friendly and pro-active approach.
In February we shot web commercial in Belgrade downtown for the client “KISSFLOW“, agency “Nine Yards”, one very successful Indian online platform promoting digital work space and online community which resonates powerfully with new reality we are all living in. KISSLOW featured domestic cast among which are very talented children that gave a special accent on the importance on keeping up with innovative technology. Clockwork engaged Igor Vukovic, one of our best DOPs to film this commercial.
In July, we did production service for very important documentary series “HOW I GOT HERE“, produced by Legacy One Production Inc for Discovery network channel in Canada Clockwork has been shot on various locations in Serbia for 12 shooting days. The story is based on the character Aleksandar, who lives in Canada, but comes back to Serbia with his son Sebastian in order to show him the land where he was born and grew up, so Sebastian can meet his origins. Through their father-son bonding in Serbia, they are going through many truthful though comic situations. For Canadian producers, Rajac Scythe Festival that was held from 15th to 17th of July, marking 50 years of its establishment, was very attractive event, so we shot it live for this project.
In 2021 we engaged more than 800 Serbian film crew members, actors and extras to work on our projects and currently Clockwork is working on pre-production of 3 very big action movies which are set to be shot in the first part of 2022.
